After a few rain delays (thanks, Atlanta), we finally caught a break in the weather — a cooler Saturday with a mix of sun and clouds that gave us perfect lighting for this family session.
Maria, Patrick, and their son Owen showed up ready to go, even though Owen wasn’t feeling 100%. You’d never know it from the photos — he still brought the smiles, the energy, and all the expressions that make photographing toddlers both unpredictable and fun.
We kept things moving at his pace, giving him time to warm up and reset between moments. He wasn’t a big fan of being thrown in the air (fair), but was all in for some slow-motion “up and down” lifts — the kind of playful movement that brings out real reactions without overwhelming little ones.
Sessions like this are a good reminder that family photos don’t need to be overly posed or perfect. They work best when everyone just rolls with the moment. Whether we’re dealing with skipped naps, off days, or unexpected weather, it’s about capturing your family as they actually are.
